Onion juice: Onion is the most effective home remedies for the treatment of mumps. Onion syrup is just the natural way of throat inflammation. Cut onion in small pieces and grind in a grinder and prepare syrup. Put two tablespoons into hot water and drink it. You will immediately get relief in pain.

Salt: A pinch of salt in a cup of hot water helps to relive in swelling in mumps. Mixed one teaspoon salt in a cup of warm water and gargle once every two hours. By the end of the day you get relief from swelling.

Garlic: Garlic has anti-microbial properties, which helps to kill bacteria and viruses. Swelling of the throat decreases by taking garlic. Take a small bud of garlic and put in your mouth. Suck it slowly. Take many times to get immediate relief.

Ginger: Ginger provides immediate relief from mucous membranes of the throat. Boil sliced ginger in a pan and leave it to cool for a while. You can add lemon juice and honey. Drink this ginger tea several times a day. You can also suck pieces of ginger in the mouth.

Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is a natural acid so it can kill bacterial and provide relief from the symptoms of inflammation of mumps. Take cup of warm water and add salt and lemon juice and gargle it. To get immediate relief you must have to do this measures several times a day.

Apple Vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is very effective remedy against swelling of mumps and bacteria. Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in one cup of water and add honey in it. Drink this mixture twice a day.

Eucalyptus Oil: Eucalyptus oil has anti-viral, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial elements which relieves the irritation in the mumps. The best way to use eucalyptus oil is that you take steam. Add few drops of eucalyptus oil in hot water. Then cover the head with a towel for 10 minutes and breathe in the steam. Do this twice a day.

Speak Less: Among this measure give proper rest to your neck. Because you may get pressure on inflamed areas by speaking loud.
