Fruit is the best source of nutrition and energy. The amount of antioxidants and nutrients is different in every fruit. Its advantage depends on the needs of the person’s body. If someone is suffering from diabetes then different fruits increase the blood sugar level. If you want to be safe so that you must have to avoid the intake of fruit which boosts blood sugar levels.

Most of the fruits are classified on the basis of ability in changing blood sugar levels. Diabetic patient must have to see its GI Index Values before eating any fruit. GI means Glaichemic Index. If it is 55 or less then diabetic can eat it. Strawberry, pear and apple are the fruits which have low carbohydrates and diabetic patient can eat it.

Mango: The king of fruits, Mango, is generally considered the world’s most delicious fruit. It has large amount of sugar so the diabetic patient should avoid it. Its regular intake may increase blood sugar levels.

Sapota: It is also known as sapodilla. Its GI value is higher than 55. If you are diabetic then do not include it in your diet. It is full of sugar and carbohydrates.

Grapes: Grapes are full of fiber, vitamins and other essential nutrients but it has large amounts of sugar. Diabetic patients should avoid it. Three Ons grapes have 15 gm carbohydrates.

Pineapple: Its GI value is very much so diabetic patient has never included in their diet. A small cup of pineapple has 20 gm or even more carbohydrates.

Pumpkin: Even the large amounts of vitamin C, calcium, iron and fiber are found, the diabetic patient should not consume it. Around 100 grams pumpkin has 23 grams of carbohydrates.

Apricot: Its GI value is near to 57. It is fatal for diabetic patient. Half cup apricot has 8 grams carbohydrates.

Banana: The GI value is between 70 – 46 and 15 grams of carbohydrates can be found in half cup of banana. Diabetic patients should not eat fully ripe banana.

Watermelon: It contains low fiber and calories and GI value is close to 72. It also has vitamin A & C in sufficient quantities. Half cup of watermelon contains 5 grams of carbohydrates.

Papaya: Its GI value is closer to 59 and it has large amount of calories and carbohydrates. If diabetic patient include in his diet then he should take it in low amount so that the blood sugar level does not increase.

Dry Berry: Dry berry should be avoided by diabetic patient. It is also known as palm and its GI value is 103. A quarter cup contains about 24 grams of carbohydrates.
