If you have to choose tea and coffee then drinking tea would be more beneficial as it has antioxidant properties. According to a research, non-cardiovascular risk is reduced by 24% by drinking tea.

Nicholas Danchin, Professor in European Society of Cardiology in Barcelona, Spain (ESC) Congress in 2014, said “coffee and tea are important components of our lives. We examined the effects of tea and coffee on French people who are at risk of cardiovascular diseases CV and non-cardiovascular mortality”.

1, 31,401 people aged 18-95 participated in the research. During and average follow up during 3.5 years 95 deaths of CV and 632 of non-CV occurred. The researchers found that the risk of CV in coffee drinkers had more than who do not drink it.

People who do not drink coffee were physically more active. Physical activity level was 45 % who do not drink coffee and 41 % who drink coffee. CV risk profile was better among tea drinkers. The physical activity was 43 % who drink tea daily and 46 % who drink more tea daily.

Danchin said, “The level of risk is high in coffee drinkers and low in tea drinkers”. We also found that men significantly drink more tea than women.

He said, "I think you can recommend tea rather than coffee."
